Lower part of the Earth's atmosphere

Earth's surface, in which temperature
decreases with height to about -60 degrees
C/-76 degrees F except in local layers of
temperature inversion. The tropopause is the
upper boundary of the troposphere above which
the temperature increases slowly with height
within the atmosphere.
